Position Title: CNS IT Student Technician (Deployment)
Job Description:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused student worker to join our Deployment team. As a Deployment Representative, you will play a key role in providing technical assistance and support to CNS IT users. This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in IT support while contributing to the smooth operation of our department.
Job Responsibilities:
- Monitor incoming requests and ticket submissions, adding information to existing tickets or creating new ones as needed.
- Assist in maintaining hardware inventory such as desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure imaging process aligns with organizational standards, security protocols, and troubleshoot issues as necessary.
- Aid in setting up and troubleshooting network connections, including wired and wireless networks.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of hardware and software inventory, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining security measures to protect systems and data from unauthorized access, viruses, and other threats.
- Support IT staff with various tasks such as system upgrades, migrations, or deployments.
- Provide excellent customer service to users by responding promptly to inquiries and ensuring technical issues are resolved satisfactorily.
- Transport equipment (e.g., computers, printers, phones) between CNS buildings on the UT Main Campus.

Position Details:
- Type: Part-time
- Work Environment: In-person
- Appointment: Semesterly appointment with the potential to be extended
- Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Work Shift:
- Hours: 10-20 hours/week
- Schedule: Flexible, within operating hours
- Shift Duration: 2-hour minimum
Required Qualifications:
- Must be authorized to work in the US
- Must not have additional position within the university
- Must be able to commit to the schedule defined
- Independent, able to complete tasks with limited oversight
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Motivated with a strong work ethic
- Technical troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fast learner
- Experience in technical support or related field
- Familiarity with computer hardware, software, and networking concepts
- Customer service experience
