IT Analyst Internship

Fairfax County's Department of Information Technology (DIT) is currently seeking dynamic and energetic interns for our Summer 2024 Internship Program. This program will be onsite at the Government center in Fairfax, VA. An internship with DIT will provide you with the opportunity to learn about technology solutions initiatives that streamline delivery of government services; encourage open data, collaboration, and shared services; enhance cybersecurity; and contribute to disaster response and recovery efforts, that thrives on innovation and pursuing excellence.

Interns will be assigned to designated support areas within the company that align with their field of study/interest at the beginning of their internship. Support areas include security, programming, systems engineers/administrators, helpdesk support, telecommunication, video teleconference and many other IT services. Each intern will be assigned to a mentor that will provide them with guidance and support throughout the program.

 

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Support and fulfill tasks assigned by the department mentor

• Attend meetings

• Perform research as requested

• Assist with new IT initiatives

• IT technical writing

• Contribute and participate in intern roundtable activities

 

Requirements:

• Current college or university student enrolled in an undergraduate program pursuing a degree in Technical Writing, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Ability to adapt to industry-specific software and processes

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Self-starter who is eager to learn

• Ability to work independently and collaborate with others
