About bUneke Magazine: bUneke Magazine is an educational charity that uses a variety of methods to inspire positive change, promote sustainable living, encourage readers to live more consciously, embrace diversity, and contribute to a better future. We focus on sharing stories that celebrate individuals and organizations making a difference in the world. Our mission is to help other charities to be seen and heard, while we foster a global community of like-minded individuals.
Position Title: Graphic Arts Volunteer Intern
Location: Remote
Duration: Flexible (Minimum commitment of 1 semester/3 months, 10-15 hours per week)
Responsibilities:
- Magazine Layout Design:
- Visual Storytelling:
- Cover Design:
- Photo Editing:
- Brand Consistency:
- Feedback and Revisions:
- Collaborate with the editorial and design teams to create visually appealing and cohesive layouts for bUneke Magazine, based on our existing template and previous magazines.
- Use graphic design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop) to enhance the overall aesthetic of the magazine.
- Translate written content into engaging visuals that align with the magazine's theme and mission.
- Conceptualize and design infographics, illustrations, and other visual elements to complement articles.
- Work closely with the editorial and design teams to design captivating, eye-catching covers for each issue.
- Ensure that cover designs align with the magazine's brand and appeal to our diverse readership.
- Keep a consistent theme throughout the entire issue that flows to the back cover.
- Edit and enhance photographs to maintain a consistent and polished look throughout the magazine.
- Collaborate with photographers to ensure high-quality images that align with the magazine's visual identity.
- Uphold and contribute to the visual identity and branding guidelines of bUneke Magazine.
- Ensure that all graphic elements maintain a cohesive and professional appearance.
- Collaborate with the editorial and design teams and incorporate feedback to refine designs.
- Proactively seek input to continuously improve the visual appeal of the magazine.
Qualifications:
- Current college student or recent graduate majoring in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.
- Proficient in graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- Have access to design software on your personal computer.
- Strong creative and conceptual thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Passionate about sustainability, social impact, and positive change.
- Eager to learn.
