Dean Counseling Services and Student Success

Napa Valley College (NVC) is seeking an individual with demonstrated administrative skills to join an outstanding team of faculty, staff, and administrators to provide high quality programs and services to our district, our community, and most importantly, our students.  

 

Our Counseling Division provides key services to Napa Valley College students in reaching their academic goals with a comprehensive education plan, graduation achievement (degree and certificate), transfer assistance to a 4-year university, student services and preparation for a professional career beyond Napa Valley College. 


 

The incumbent in this position will be responsible for providing administrative direction and oversight for the operation and management of the Counseling Division, including General Counseling,  Transfer Center, Career Center, Articulation Office, and the following instructional programs: Counseling, Human Services and Addiction Studies; providing leadership, coordination, articulation and implementation of the initiatives and activities for Student Equity and Achievement (SEA) Program in the areas of Credit and NonCredit matriculation, counseling, orientation, educational planning, academic probation and retention and follow-up services; managing overall delivery of assigned student services; providing information and serving as a resource to others; and achieving defined objectives by planning, administering, evaluating, developing, implementing and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines.  

 

This job reports to Assistant Superintendent/Vice President, Student Affairs. 
 

 

This is a full-time, 12-months-per-year, educational-administrative assignment. The salary has an appropriate placement on Range 19 of the current Administrative/Confidential salary schedule. Initial salary placement is $8,762 to $9,660/month, with future steps up to $12,328/month. Placement on the salary schedule is commensurate with experience. The college offers a fringe benefit package, including medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, employee assistance program, and CalSTRS membership. Assignment includes 20 paid holidays, 22 vacation days, and 12 days sick leave annually.
