Analyst, Summer Internship
Grandview Peak Capital (GPC) is a private investment firm (traditional search fund) focused on middle market investment opportunities in software and tech-enabled services in the United States. GPC’s investors are institutional funds, family offices and high net worth individuals. GPC is seeking to identify, acquire, and operate an existing private company with initial enterprise value of $10 - $50 million.
We are currently looking for Analyst Interns for a remote, summer internship. The positions are unpaid but include a large training component (week by week sessions focused on industry analysis, deal sourcing, finance, valuation and modeling), and GPC is prepared to provide letters of recommendation and introductions to its vast network of contacts in management consulting, banking, private equity firms, or tech companies for high performing interns.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct proprietary industry research and acquisition target sourcing
- Screen investment opportunities and evaluate fit with the fund’s investment criteria
- Identify investment opportunities, including industry, company and stakeholder research
- Assist in due diligence for potential investments, including financial modeling, valuation and deal memos
Learning goals:
- Primary: A firm understanding of industry analysis (techniques similar to HBS Prof. Michael Porter's Five Forces Model)
- Primary: A firm understanding of what makes a profitable and scalable business
- Secondary: An understanding of basic financial accounting analysis concepts (ex. income statement analysis, company valuation)
- Secondary: A practical approach to investment modeling
