Visual Communications Graphic Designer Intern (May 2024 Start)

Position Overview:

Flow is seeking a highly creative and motivated Visual Communications Graphic Designer Intern to join our design team. This internship offers a unique opportunity for individuals currently pursuing a career in visual communications graphic design to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment with various aspects of creating visual communications design for marketing materials, sales aides, illustrations, and animations. As a Visual Communications Graphic Designer Intern, you will work remotely and dedicate at least 20+ hours per week to the internship position. No training will be provided, and candidates are expected to be experts in illustration, animation, Figma, and the Adobe Suite from the outset.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

1. **Graphic Design:** Create visually compelling and aesthetically pleasing graphics, illustrations, and animations for various digital and print materials, including for marketing campaigns, social media posts, presentations, marketing collateral, sales aides, and website assets.

 

2. **Brand Identity:** Maintain and enhance the company's visual brand identity across all communications channels, ensuring consistency and adherence to brand guidelines.

 

3. **UI/UX Design:** Collaborate with the UI/UX design team to create user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing interface designs for various purposes, focusing on enhancing the overall user experience.

 

4. **Storyboarding and Conceptualization:** Develop storyboards, concept sketches, and visual narratives to communicate ideas effectively and engage the audience in storytelling initiatives.

 

5. **Illustration and Animation:** Produce original illustrations and animations to convey complex concepts, processes, or data in a clear and engaging manner, utilizing both 2D and 3D animation techniques.

 

6. **Prototyping:** Use prototyping tools such as Figma to create interactive prototypes and wireframes for user testing and design validation, iterating on designs based on user feedback and usability testing results.

 

7. **Collaboration:** Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and development, to understand project requirements, brainstorm creative solutions, and deliver high-quality design assets on time and within scope.

 

8. **Feedback Incorporation:** Incorporate feedback from stakeholders and team members into design revisions, demonstrating flexibility and openness to constructive criticism to continuously improve design outcomes.

 

9. **Visual Trends Research:** Stay updated on the latest design trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices in graphic design, illustration, animation, and user interface design, applying insights to enhance design projects.

 

10. **Documentation:** Maintain organized design files, documentation, and asset libraries to ensure efficient collaboration and asset management across the organization.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Currently pursuing a degree or equivalent certification in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.

- Expert with conceptual thinking, design thinking, sketching, illustrations, animations, and graphic design software, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, and Figma.

- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and innovative design work, with an emphasis on visual storytelling, typography, and color theory.

- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote team environment, sharing ideas and presenting design concepts with clarity and confidence.

- Detail-oriented approach to design, with a keen eye for aesthetics, layout, and composition.

- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

- Passion for creativity, innovation, and continuous learning, with a strong desire to push the boundaries of design and explore new techniques and technologies.
