Government Relations Intern
About the role:
We are currently seeking a Government Relations Intern at our corporate headquarters in St. Louis, MO.
Gain experience in all aspects of a corporate government relations department where candidate will participate in the planning and execution of a corporate legislative and regulatory engagement plan, provide analysis of regulatory and legislative policies, and assist in the communication of the impact of policies to key internal and external stakeholders.
Duties will include:
- Tracking key legislative/regulatory policies at the federal and state level and summarizing their status and potential impact on company operations for internal stakeholder review.
- Participating in meetings with key internal and external stakeholders, trade associations, and outside consultants.
- Monitor committee oversight hearings and summarize key facets for internal stakeholders.
- Track and provide periodic reports on key candidate positions and their potential impact on policies important to the company.

This position is a full-time role based at our corporate office. Peabody offers flexible work policies, including hybrid office/home working arrangements and opportunity to finish at noon on Fridays.
About you:
- 3rd year undergraduate or above
- Passion or interest in politics and the legislative process.
- Proficient in Microsoft office and excel.
- Excellent writing skills and ability to comprehend complex legislative and regulatory policies
Physical Requirements:
- Must have the ability to perform office related tasks which may include prolonged sitting or standing
- Must have the ability to move from place to place within an office environment
- Must be able to use a computer
- Some positions may require occasional repetitive motion or movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
