HVAC Estimator

ROLE: Estimator 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Review plans and specifications
  • Generate take-offs using on-screen takeoff software  
  • Utilize manufacturers’ selection and pricing software
  • Actively monitor and handle the Estimating email account 
  • Produce detailed and accurate quotations for customers, ahead of bid due dates 
  • Participate in web-based, local, and manufacturer training programs
  • Learn and stay up to date with HVAC product applications and advancements 
  • Follow MAP Estimating standards including: completing Spec Reviews, saving all documents in RepEdge, and utilizing standard pricing spreadsheets and quotation documents 
  • Collaborate with salespeople
  • Coordinate with MAP estimators
  • Communicate regularly with MAP customers, especially contractor estimating departments 
  • Assist new team members with technical questions and MAP standards 

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is a plus
  • Strong interest in the HVAC industry and willingness to learn
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude, a proactive and positive mindset, effective time management skills and excellent communication skills
  • Build, manage and foster a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload while meeting deadlines
  • Adaptable to a dynamic environment with constantly changing construction schedules, design changes, addendums, and due dates 
  • Trustworthy, responsible, and ethical
