Lead Teacher at The Family Partnership

Do you want to make a difference in the community by helping children develop to their full potential? The Family Partnership is seeking a Lead Teacher to provide opportunities to promote learning in the areas of social/emotional, motor, cognitive, and creative development for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in our full-day therapeutic education and care program. This position oversees the classroom, responding to the children’s individual needs and abilities. Responsibilities include creating and implementing lesson plans, performing assessments and setting goals, and leading activities and field trips. This role is available with full-time and part-time flexibility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·       Provide a safe, stimulating, healthy, and nurturing environment to provide all children with a positive experience.

·       Teach age-appropriate activities for both group and self-select learning.

·       Develop and implement age- and skill-appropriate weekly lesson plans and learning opportunities.

·       Assess functional levels across developmental areas, set individual goals, and write progress reports.

·       Arrange three parent/teacher conferences annually.

·       Supervise and participate in children’s activities, parent/child activities, and field trips.

·       Ensure constant supervision of the children.

·       Maintain accurate participant/program records and daily notes on each child as required.

·       Participate in parent/teacher conferences; make referrals based on the needs of the child when necessary.

·       Clean and disinfect toys and tables and conduct daily safety inspection of play areas, classroom, playground, etc.

·       Maintain compliance with CACFP requirements.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

·       2 or 4 year degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred, or CDA.

·       One year experience as a teacher or assistant teacher in a child care setting.
