Duties and Responsibilities:

  • ·Performing basic professional and technical engineering tasks ranging from inspections, reporting, plan preparation/review to contract administration.
  • Review drawings, specifications, cost estimates, project schedules, and other work for accuracy, presentation, and conformance with established construction/engineering practices and applicable codes and standards.
  • Perform field observations of construction projects to monitor progress and verify conformance to design drawings/specifications and applicable codes and standards.
  • Prepare detailed written reports of performed field observations identifying any deviation and non-conformance with the design drawings/specifications and applicable codes and standards.
  • Estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, or labor as requested by the Client in order to determine feasibility of the proposed retrofit and/or repair.
  • Attend various internal and external meetings regarding assigned projects or issues, and respond to questions and inquiries from various individuals, groups, organizations, or companies regarding a wide range of engineering topics and issues.
  • Strictly adheres to the office standards, policies and project schedules. Timely inform project manager and/or department head regarding any conflicts/issues that relate to his/her work.
  • Learning is a required assignment for all employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Preference for a degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • 0-2 years of pre-or-post degree work experience involved in construction, design, inspection or estimating in either a professional or educational environment.
