Video Editor Intern

Job Summary:

Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 

  

Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship management, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.  

 

Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. Resilience offers unpaid internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

 

Although this is an unpaid internship, there is the opportunity to earn school credit. Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

 

The Video Editor is an essential role within our nonprofit organization, responsible for crafting engaging and informative 20-minute videos that support our mission and initiatives. This unpaid internship offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in video editing, storytelling, and content creation while contributing to a noble cause.

Responsibilities and Activities:

  • Video Editing: Edit and assemble video footage, audio, graphics, and animations to create high-quality, 20-minute videos that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Content Enhancement: Enhance the visual and audio quality of video content, ensuring it is engaging and easy to follow.
  • Storyboarding: Collaborate with the content team to develop video concepts, storyboards, and shot lists that effectively convey the intended message.
  • Music and Sound: Select and incorporate appropriate music, sound effects, and voiceovers to enhance the video's emotional impact and clarity.
  • Color Correction and Grading: Perform color correction and grading to maintain a consistent visual style across videos.
  • Text and Graphics: Incorporate text overlays, graphics, and subtitles to aid in conveying information and messages effectively.
  • Transitions and Effects: Apply transitions, visual effects, and motion graphics to improve the overall video quality and viewer engagement.
  • Review and Feedback: Work closely with the content team and subject matter experts to gather feedback and ensure that videos accurately convey the intended content and messages.
  • Media Library Management: Organize and manage the organization's media library, including video footage, graphics, and audio assets.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the final videos meet high-quality standards and are free from errors, glitches, or inconsistencies.

Requirements:

  • A strong passion for video editing and creative content creation.
  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and a creative eye for visual storytelling.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with color correction, sound editing, and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Pursuing or recently completed a degree in film and video production, digital media, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • At least 6 months of video editing experience
