AIST Foundation Steel Intern Scholarship and Internship 2025

We think you maybe a great fit for an AIST Foundation Steel Intern Scholarship based on your major and expected graduation date:

We will award up to 50 one-year scholarships of US$7,500 each for the 2025-2026 academic year. These scholarships are preceded by a required PAID summer internship during the summer of 2025. Internship locations are nationwide.

Applicants must be enrolled full-time, be a current sophomore (year 2) or junior (year 3), or senior (year4) planning to enter year 1 of graduate school. Applicants must be citizens of the US, Canada, or Mexico.

The steel industry is full of tremendous opportunities for your future career. We're looking for  talented students studying engineering, engineering technology, computer science, data science, environmental/sustainability science, and industrial safety.

For consideration, you will need to submit an application (found here) by 14 October 2024 for the 2025-2026 academic year. Along with the application you will need to submit a resume, and essay, your transcript, and a minimum of 1 recommendation letter (maximum of 5) is required. The letter(s) should be written by a professional familiar with the student's work and/or interests. Letters written by a representative of a steel-related company and/or a discipline-related professor will be given more weight in the scoring process. To obtain the highest score, applicants should submit a letter from both a representative of a steel-related company and an discipline-related professor.
