Job Summary:

The Sustainability Intern will work with Trimble’s Corporate Sustainability Manager who manages Trimble’s Science Based Target Program. The focus will be on a Lifecycle Assessment of Trimble products. This means looking at how our products are designed, whether their supply chain could be streamlined by consolidating similar products, how recyclable our products are, how we could extend their Useful Life as well as the packaging that is used. There is opportunity to work with our packaging expert and examine how we could redesign our packaging to use alternative materials, as well as reducing the size and volume of parcels that are shipped, thereby reducing our shipping emissions. 

 

Timeframe:

Minimum of 8 weeks from around June (negotiable) 2024 in a PAID Internship program

 

Key Responsibilities:

Produce datasets and reports for analysis using system reporting tools.

Perform ad hoc analysis and requests for gathering data

Create reports, charts, and other visualizations to tell the story of our products and packaging

Work with multiple internal stakeholders and departments, particularly packaging and supply chain, to assist in the roll out of carbon and waste reduction initiatives

 

 

Recommended Skills & Experience

Candidates currently pursuing or completed a Masters Degree in Sustainability or similar fields

Experience in LCA Analysis preferred

Proven ability to create meaningful powerpoint slides that incorporate decision useful data and information

Experience working with a tech company’s supply chain would be advantageous but not necessary 

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel

Experience with Google Workspace

High attention to detail with strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills

Track record of taking ownership of assignments and seeing them through to completion 

Ability to collaborate with team members across different departments

This compensation range is based on a full time schedule.
