PATH4YOU (Statewide Contraceptive Access Initiative) Community Support Ambassador

Position Title: PATH4YOU Community Support Ambassador

Organization: Pregnancy at a Time that is Happy and Healthy 4 YOU (PATH4YOU) at IU School of Medicine

Department/Office: IU School of Medicine

Hourly Wage: $10-12/hr

Number of openings: 1

Average Hours/Week: 2-4 hours every week

Reports to: PATH4YOU Community Liaison who is the point person for community engagement work for the PATH4YOU project and the overall PATH4YOU leadership team.

General Purpose: The PATH4YOU program is a statewide contraception access program that provides free, same-day access to all forms of contraception.  Learn more here: www.path4you.org The PATH4YOU Community Support Ambassador is an opportunity for a current IUPUI student to fulfill requests that the PATH4YOU program receives for program materials and to assure that our swag inventory is stocked and ready to go for community events.  Successful candidates my have the opportunity to move into additional roles within the program that involve more community outreach events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Broken-down by hours/week

  • 1 hour – reviewing the submitted requests for PATH4YOU materials from community partners and our inventory.  If needed, ordering additional inventory as needed.
  • 1-2hrs – fulfilling PATH4YOU program material requests, packaging them and shipping them to provided addresses around the state.  Communicating with any requestors as needed.
  • 1 hour – stickering various inventory with our program stickers for future fulfillment of orders

Desired Minimum Qualifications:

Availability:

  • Requires weekly availability to fulfill orders within 3-5 business days they are requested.  Work can be done at non-traditional hours.

Education and Experience:

  • Enrollment as a student at IUPUI
  • Students of any academic standing are welcome to apply
  • Candidates with experience in a customer service-related setting are encouraged to apply.

 

This position is limited to candidates with a Federal Work-Study Program award. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated skill in communicating individually and in small group formats
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Comfortable answering the phone and returning phone calls when necessary
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
  • Ability to professionally communicate with community members
  • Comfort with reproductive healthcare topics and products
  • Ability to learn new technology in support of events, marketing tactics, and office support
  • Ability to positively represent the PATH4YOU program
