Interior Design - Intern

A South Florida's premier Kitchen Design firm, is looking for an Design Intern with knowledge or interests in the world of interior design. This is an in-office, part-time position located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Our ideal candidate will have the following:

• Strong organizational skills that enable multitasking in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail. 

• Computer Skills including Microsoft Office (Excel & Word). 

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that are persuasive, credible, and polished, and willingness to listen/take notes. 

• Experience with calendar and travel management. - High level of detail, organization and professionalism. 

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. 

• Highest level of customer/client service. 

Specific Accountabilities:

Learn the creative process

The intern will work closely with the design team to support the development and execution of high-end interior design projects

Assist with the design and development of interior design concepts, including research and sourcing of materials and finishes

Ability to interact with senior management, external client organizations, and vendors

Collaborate effectively with all team members to expand knowledge in design

Assisting lead designers with data entry

Strong organizational skills that enable multitasking in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines, while maintaining attention to detail

Document changes to interior drawings as instructed.

Consult with manufacturers; research and evaluate materials.

Participate in design meetings.

Receive mentorship from experienced design professionals.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Competent knowledge of Floor Plans and computer programs such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Sketch up, Autocad.
