Therapeutic Childcare Specialist
Since its inception in 1893, Helping Hand Home for Children has been a leader in the field of child welfare and residential treatment. With a commitment to best practices and evidence-based services, our mission is to provide a nurturing and therapeutic home for severely abused children to receive treatment before returning them to a family setting. We are currently looking for trustworthy individuals to fill our Therapeutic Childcare Specialist role at our 24-hour licensed residential facility.
We provide an initial 2.5-week full-time paid training program, with our next hire classes beginning on November 4, 2024.

Although not required, many of our Therapeutic Childcare Specialists have backgrounds in psychology, social work, child development, or related fields.
What you’ll do:
Build nurturing relationships with the children using the Trust-Based Relationship Intervention model (TBRI).
Assist children with day-to-day needs including implementing schedules, supervising activities, administering medications, and teaching/coaching the children on a variety of life skills.
Complete regular documentation and reports accurately and on time (e.g., medical monitoring, progress notes, etc.)

Required Qualifications:
Physically able to use authorized crisis intervention techniques.
Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Flexibility with hours; ability to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overnights as needed.
