Voluntary Carbon Market Summer Intern

The Voluntary Carbon Market Summer Intern will assist EcoEngineers in projects across the spectrum of the voluntary carbon market. Assisting with such tasks as methodology gap assessment, cataloging existing methodologies, participation in carbon removal project assessments and writing carbon project design documents. The Voluntary Carbon Market Intern is an introductory-level position for someone with interest in carbon market project, data analysis related to greenhouse gas emissions, and atmospheric carbon removal. Interns will have the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills they have acquired in college to real-world, professional-level work. The position is full-time/hourly and will run from May – August 2024.

Required Qualifications:

  • A graduate student within 1-2 years of graduation
  • Actively pursuing a degree in climate science or carbon accounting.
  • Ability to work fulltime 5 days per week

  • Proficiency with computer software including Microsoft Suite
  • Familiarity with ISO 14064 standards and their key terms (i.e., Additionality, Leakage, etc.)

Preferred Abilities:

  • Experience working with carbon removal projects
  • Knowledge of the voluntary carbon market
  • Knowledge of scope accounting practices
  • Experience working in a professional environment
