Production Studio Intern
As a Production Studio Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work on the Best Buy Studios team. Best Buy Studios is the creative production delivery capability within Best Buy Marketing. The group’s focus is to deliver outstanding content to inspire, educate and support our customers along their purchase journey. Variety drives the team to create high volumes of content across all media platforms in a dynamic, fast paced environment. In addition, you’ll participate in a summer series that includes our executive speaker events, Excel and PowerPoint workshops, and personal and professional development sessions.
This internship runs from June to August 2024. It’s an in-person role, meaning you must be located within a drivable distance to our production studio in Bloomington, Minnesota. You’ll be asked to come into the studio office 5 days per week, with occasional off-site trips for shoots. This internship does not have the potential to lead to a full-time opportunity. Housing will not be provided.
What you’ll do
- Participate in the planning, execution, and post-production of video & still marketing and advertising projects, including still photography, motion projects, videos, editing capabilities, etc.
- Rotate through unique production-focused teams at Best Buy Studios, including Production, Art, Asset Management, Engineering, Facilities, Business Affairs, etc.
- Create content, with guidance from production experts, that has the potential to be externally facing through Best Buy socials or other channels
- Learn all aspects of production in a fun and creative environment
- Run errands such as purchasing supplies, props, equipment, food and other necessary items for projects/productions
Basic qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or associate degree from an accredited college/university, with an expected graduation date between December 2024 and May 2027
- Must be able to work in person at the production studio (6205 W. 111th St, Bloomington, MN, 55438), Monday - Friday
- Must be able to work 40 hours a week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:30am-5pm
- Must be able to commit to the internship start and end date of 6/3/2024- 8/9/2024
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization
Preferred qualifications
- Valid driver's license and independent transportation and insurance on personal vehicle
- Passionate about content making, film making or media arts
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, in a Mac environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of various social media channels
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Strong ability to ask questions, leading with curiosity
- Strong ability to quickly learn new tasks
- Self-starter and constantly challenging self to show initiative
- Strong ability to work independently
