Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer (EI)

Trautner Geotech is a regional Geotechnical Engineering and Materials testing firm with offices in Durango and Cortez, Colorado. We are actively seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Intern with 0 to 3 years experience for our Durango, Colorado Office.  Position will start in our Materials Testing division to aid in learning geotechnical consulting from the ground up which is critical for future career growth into a Staff Geotechnical Engineer.  Job responsibilities will include both office and field engineering in a mountainous environment. Responsibilities and qualities necessary include, but are not limited to:

Key Responsibilities:

• Field testing of soils, concrete and asphalt
• Various geotechnical laboratory testing procedures per ASTM methods
• Obtain American Concrete Institute (ACI) and WAQTC certifications
• Excavation field observations
• Assist Geotechnical staff, as required.
• Future transition to Staff Geotechnical Engineer role following Materials Testing training period.  

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
• Current Engineering Intern Certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to lead and work within a team-based environment
