Project Geotechnical Engineer (PE)

Trautner Geotech is a regional Geotechnical Engineering and Materials testing firm with offices in Durango and Cortez, Colorado. We are actively seeking an experienced Geotechnical Engineer for our Durango, Colorado Office. A Colorado licensed Professional Engineer with 5+ years of geotechnical engineering consulting experience is preferred; however, an EIT with 3 to 5 years of experience who is pursuing licensure may be considered. Job responsibilities will include both office and field engineering in a mountainous environment. Responsibilities and qualities necessary include, but are not limited to:

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct / manage geotechnical investigations for foundations and pavements including field work
  • Manage complex geotechnical engineering projects independently from inception to completion
  • Familiarity with deep and shallow foundation alternatives
  • Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Develop and maintain client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
  • Provide technical guidance during construction and address field-related issues
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred; however, EIT with 3 to 5 years of experience who is pursuing licensure may be considered at lower pay scale
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead and work within a team-based environment

Job Type: Full-time

 

Pay: $80,000 - $120,000.00 per year
