Big Rock is seeking a Geologist that will primarily be field work-based to assist in collecting and processing geologic data. Work consist of various types of projects such as drilling programs, mapping & GIS projects, resource targeting, project & data management, geophysical surveying, and modeling. 

Essential Functions:

  1. Various forms of field reconnaissance such as mapping, soil sampling, surveying, and other forms of technical data collection
  2. Core logging, sampling, and processing
  3. General field labor as needed
  4. Geophysical surveying
  5. GPS surveying
  6. Data processing, data QRQC, digital mapping
  7. Attend project and safety inductions and meetings
  8. Any additional tasks assigned by the Project Manager

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Geology
  2. Must be able to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
  3. Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  4. Valid driver’s license
  5. Able to travel 75% of time
  6. Have a working mobile phone at all times

Onsite locations listed are our office locations but the work site varies based on the project in which you'd be working. General work areas of on-site project work could entail the Midwest region, Southwest region, or Pacific Northwest region.
