Research Compliance Analyst

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in one of the basic sciences, and a science background with experience in a laboratory. The preferred candidate will be very detail-oriented, a multi-tasker and have excellent organizational skills.

The Compliance Analyst - Research Integrity Program will provide analytical and organizational support for MD Anderson's research integrity program. This will include providing analytical, logistical, and organization support for handling research misconduct allegations in accordance with NIH, CPRIT, FDA, NSF, PHS and other federal and state authorities' laws and rules governing research integrity and developing and implementing research integrity and responsible conduct of research training programs.

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

Institutional Resource

· Serve as an institutional resource by answering questions to the Research Integrity help-line or email account, answers questions to assist in handling research misconduct allegations.

· Refer questions and issues to responsible personnel when appropriate in a timely manner.

Research Integrity Coordinator

· Provide analytical, logistical, and organization support for MD Anderson's research integrity program.

· Responsible for (a) coordinating activities related to the review and handling of research misconduct allegations and research integrity matters, (b) supporting the institution's research integrity program by assisting in the review of research misconduct allegations; communicating with faculty, journals and other institutions to address perceived inaccuracies in the research record, (c) coordinating and supporting research misconduct proceedings, (d) sequestering and maintaining relevant evidence, (e) preparing required reports, analyses and findings of research misconduct proceedings, (f) preparing and sending formal communications and memos, and (g) maintaining an organized storage system for all documents and material related to research misconduct proceedings, (h) maintaining tracking information for all research allegations and related research misconduct proceedings to enable compliance with regulatory and other timelines, and (i) prepare MD Anderson's annual report and assurance to the DHHS Office of Research Integrity.

Training, education and research integrity compliance

· Assist with developing and implementing activities and programs to teach responsible conduct of research, research integrity, and research misconduct prevention.

· This will include disseminating information about research integrity and research misconduct policies, institutional processes and tools for research record-keeping and research data governance.

Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Required Education: Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education: Master's degree.

Required Experience: Four years of experience in research or research compliance, general/legal regulatory compliance, corporate compliance, privacy compliance, billing and reimbursement or billing compliance, healthcare administration and/or general business as an analyst, auditor or fraud investigator.

With preferred degree, two years of experience required.

May substitute required degree with additional years of related experience on a one to one basis.
