Environmental Engineer II
At LCRA, we are looking for an Environmental Professional to join our Environmental Affairs team! Your expertise in environmental engineering and regulatory compliance will provide support primarily with the planning and execution of transmission utility infrastructure projects in Texas. This position prefers applicant be an Engineer in Training (EIT) certified by the State of Texas and to pass the Texas Professional Engineering Exam within four years of hiring date, or within a reasonable amount of time based on prior engineering experience. You will be trusted to:
- Perform a variety of progressively responsible engineering assignments involving engineering principles. Under limited supervision of a Texas licensed Professional Engineer.
- Work with a professional engineer to identify, implement and manage all applicable environmental regulations. Analyze proposed regulations to identify impact on LCRA assets. Including but not limited to engineering tools for emission and effluent tracking, statistical analysis, predictive analysis etc.
- Complete engineering projects and design work involving adaptations and modifications to systems, equipment, materials, costs and procedures. Work with a Professional Engineer to perform system analysis, build predictive tools, and provide in-depth regulatory or engineering analysis.
- Collect data to prepare SPCC Plans for electrical substations, dams and other facilities.
- Maintain knowledge of engineering principles and enhance knowledge of LCRA equipment and systems.
You qualify with:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, engineering technology, engineering physics, biosystems engineering, mathematical science, physical science or related science plus one or more years of post-Bachelors engineering experience relating to the area of engineering specialization required to perform the job.
- Driver's license
You are a great fit with:
- 2 - 3 years engineering experience
- Experience writing Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans in compliance with requirements under 40 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 112.
- Experience with the Clean Air Act (CAA), Clean Water Act (CWA), the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the TexasRisk Reduction Program (TRRP), and Edwards Aquifer requirements and regulations.
- Experience in designing and interpreting diagrams, schematics, and drawings, including experience in computer aided drafting.
- An Engineer in Training (EIT) Engineer in Training and meet qualifications to sit for Texas Professional Engineer Exam within four years of hiring date, or within a reasonable amount of time based on prior engineering experience.
