2024 MADD Ignite Internship (Human Resources) - Dallas/ Ft. Worth, TX

Reporting directly to VP, People & Culture, the People & Culture Intern will provide valuable support to the Human Resources department, assisting in various administrative tasks and gaining practical experience in the field of human resources. This internship offers an excellent opportunity to learn about HR processes, policies, and procedures, while developing essential skills for a successful career in human resources. Intern will complete a project directly related to the People & Culture strategy.

This is an in-office, paid, internship that runs from June 10 - August 2, 2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with recruitment and selection processes, including posting job advertisements, reviewing resumes, conducting initial screenings, and scheduling interviews.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews, including sending interview invitations, organizing interview rooms, and preparing interview materials.
  • Participate in new employee onboarding activities, such as preparing new hire paperwork, conducting orientations, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
  • Support HR staff in maintaining employee records and updating the HRIS (Human Resources Information System) database.
  • Help with employee benefits administration, including processing enrollment forms, answering employee inquiries, and supporting the annual benefits open enrollment process.
  • Assist in coordinating training and development programs, including scheduling training sessions, tracking attendance, and gathering feedback.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives, such as employee engagement surveys, performance management processes, and diversity and inclusion programs.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including preparing HR-related documents, organizing files, and maintaining HR supplies.
  • Stay updated on employment laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and best practices within the HR field.
  • Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the HR Manager or Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currently a junior or senior college student pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in human resources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees at all levels of the organization.
