Configuration Management Summer 2024 Internship

Reporting to the Utilities & Infrastructure Manager, you will develop finite element models of structures, systems, and components, apply normal, natural hazard, and evaluate for adequacy. The student would support formal report preparation. This team works a 4x10 schedule and works onsite at the Materials and Fuels Complex near Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Interns will spend the first week of their assignment working with their mentor to outline their work scope and to secure resources for a successful internship. For the next several weeks, the mentor will provide considerable program assistance and mentorship to the intern. In addition to regular activities, interns are encouraged to attend weekly seminars, tours and community events crafted with career development in mind. Completion of a final project is recommended and can be completed through a variety of media – a traditional poster, electronic presentation or video.

Qualifications - External

  • Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior or Senior enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • A minimum overall (3.0)GPA
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Undergraduate Internships ($25.65/hour - $30.70/hour)
  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships Pre-Candidacy ($31.75/hour - $34.06/hour)
  • PhD Internships Post-Candidacy ($33.75/hour - $36.06/hour)
  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off, and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.
  • Multi-Level: This is a multi-level posting and you will be placed at the appropriate level dependent on degree field and level of education.
