UWW Landscaping and Grounds Team - Summer 2024 - Work Study or Regular Pay

We are looking for student employees to work on the UW-Whitewater Landscaping & Grounds Team for the of summer 2024.

Full time positions will be expected to work 40 hours a week from 6AM - 2PM Rain or shine.

Start date is May 13th until August 30th and rate of pay is $14.00 an hour.

Those hired will need to sign an employment agreement, have a valid drivers license and will be subject to termination for breaking of safety rules and requirements.

Duties include, cultivation and care of the landscaping and grounds surrounding buildings; Planting flowers, mowing, pulling weeds, and maintaining outside of buildings. 

Primary responsibilities

•Cutting lawn using push or riding mower and hand trimming.

 •Landscape by planting flowers, grass, shrubs and trees.

•Rake & mulch the grounds as needed.

•Water plants and grass as needed.

•Assist with arborist work.

•Perform minor maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping.

•Clean campus grounds as needed with blowers, brooms, & Picking up trash.

•Assist in moving/ hauling furniture. 

Requirements 

Applicants must be able to work an 8-hour day, 40 hours a week from Monday-Friday 6AM-2PM. Will be required to have hiking/work style/ hard sole boots or shoes. Must be able to handle/lift 50+lbs.

Students will be trained on how to do general maintenance on equipment they use and may be trained on larger equipment as needed.
