Engineer
Work with a team of engineers to support the hardware design and delivery of Instrumentation & Control (I&C) cabinets and associated electro-mechanical hardware components and subassemblies. Ensure that hardware designs and project documentation meet applicable system & quality requirements. Work closely with manufacturing operations to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Issue hardware design documentation such as cabinet layout drawings, cable/wiring schematics, and PCB layout/schematics for I&C products.
- Compile technical and quality documentation for procurement, testing and manufacturing of Safety System hardware products.
- Work closely with manufacturing to resolve issues, provide oversight, and ensure products are in accordance with build-to-print drawing packages and specifications
- Perform engineering calculations in support of design or analysis of products.
- Support resolution of technical issues including obsolescence
- Support development of test procedures and execution of functional tests
- Providing engineering design and/or analysis for nuclear products/projects including electrical system design, instrumentation and controls designs, and system wiring;
- Interfacing with other internal functional groups on similar engineering level to obtain information necessary to perform work assignments
- Interface with suppliers and/or manufacturing facilities to support technical issue resolution.
- Planning and scheduling work to meet assignment requirements.
- Ability to quickly learn to evaluate, select and utilize standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for development of engineering design documents including calculations and specifications.
- Execute assignments independently within project schedule and budgetary requirements.
- Provide support to customers for installation and emergent technical issues
- Opportunities to travel to customer and supplier sites (domestic and international)
Who You Are:
As a successful candidate, you will bring the following to the team:
- Completed Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Required (or related technical field).
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis/design desired.
- Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&ID drawings, loop diagrams, schematics, cabinet drawings and panel layouts
- Awareness of field devices and control devices typical to the power industry is a plus
- Knowledge of lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience in CAD/CAE (e.g. AutoCAD/Inventor) software is desired
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 strongly preferred.
