Coding Teacher
Penguin Coding School is looking for full-time and part-time instructors to teach computer coding to children between the ages 5-18. Instructors will teach coding based on Penguin Coding's unique project based curriculum.
We teach in-person and online classes on week days (2p-9pm) and weekends (9am-9pm). Instructors teach anywhere from 1 to 20 hours a week, depending on availability and our class schedule.
Full time teachers will also work on curriculum development and help build the company operations infrastructure.
Before setting foot in a classroom, new teachers will learn how to teach our unique curriculum.
We teach using:
- Simple drag & drop coding platform called Scratch & Minecraft for lower elementary grades
- Python and Roblox (Lua) for upper elementary school kids
- Java & AI/Machine Learning for computer science prep for middle school and high school students.
- We also have a robust robotics curriculum for ages 5-18.
Qualifications
Successful candidates are either:
1) aspiring teachers who are looking to add STEM and computer programming as part of their portfolio of subject expertise or
2) professional software developers who enjoy teaching kids
Through our experience, we have found that passion for education and experience working with kids are more important than pure coding knowledge. We especially welcome teachers with experience working with young elementary school students.
