Program Research Specialist l (JR-0000554)
Responsibilities
The Program Research Specialist I will assist with work in the Bureau of Data Analytics, Research, and Evaluation and Bureau of Child Health to perform a wide range of activities to enhance pediatric mental health care at school-based health centers (SBHCs) across New York State and support the State Systems Development Initiative (SSDI) to build and expand NYSDOH’s data capacity to support the State’s Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant (MCHSBG).
As a part of a federally funded Pediatric Mental Health Care Access (PMHCA) grant, the incumbent will assist with collection and evaluation of data related to tele-mental health service utilization. In addition, the incumbent will assist with ongoing monitoring of program activities and providing technical assistance to SBHC clinical staff. The incumbent will also assist with the development of performance measures and data collection tools and will assist with stakeholder engagement activities relevant to this grant. The incumbent will assist with the Division of Family Health and other areas of the Department to support the SSDI grant and MCHSBG. Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, Health Informatics, Statistics, Sociology or a related field; OR an Associate’s degree in a related field and two years of research experience in the collection and analysis of data; OR four years of such experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in data management and/or analysis using computer software packages. Experience working with large population-based data sets and determining and performing analyses. Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Conditions of Employment
Grant funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables, is required.
Valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Travel, up to 25% of the time, will be required.
This position requires that the incumbent will report to the official work location and live within commuting distance to the official work location. Telecommuting will be available.
The incumbent in this position will be required to occasionally work on weekends, after-hours, and holidays.
