Civil Engineer Intern - Summer 2024

Your Opportunity

Stantec's Energy practice has an opportunity for highly motivated Engineering Student Interns to join their team in Bellevue, Washington to work on hydropower, dam, and fishery projects. This is a great opportunity to work with industry leading professionals in your field of study.

Candidates should be highly motivated and dependable students who are taking or have taken applicable mechanical engineering courses. Your Key Responsibilities

Provide civil engineering support for a variety of design and ongoing construction projects, coordination with other engineering disciplines and CAD designers.

Responsibilities will include drawing production (CAD drafting, sketches, etc.), review of construction submittals, design calculations and report preparation, product research and outreach, occasional site visits, and various project-related tasks.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work in a team environment

Self-motivated

Basic understanding of CAD drafting software (i.e., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Inventor, and/or Revit), and MS Office software

Education and Experience

Enrollment in an accredited Engineering program

Relevant courses: Fluid Mechanics, Mechanics of Materials, Statics, Computer Aided Design

At least two years of college education and be within approximately two years of graduation

At least a 3.0 GPA is preferred

Typical office environment working with computers and working at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):

  • $21.91 Per Hour - $30.10 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.

  • Washington state employees are eligible to accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 40 hours worked except for Seattle employees who accrue sick leave in accordance with the city’s paid sick leave law.
