Our local market sales teams are responsible for managing network relationships with hospitals and physicians in their associated U.S. region/market, selling The Cigna Group products to local employers, and working with these employers to manage their employees’ benefits. The Sales Performance Enablement & Execution team supports these teams in various ways including communication, enterprise training, early careers programs, onboarding, new product/service training, as well as various other sales programs and support tools. In this internship, you’ll have an opportunity to work with several teams within the Performance Enablement and Execution organization such as Sales Learning, Sales Readiness, Technology Services, Provider Network Contracting and others.

Sales Program & Learning Intern Responsibilities
This internship will take place May- August within the Sales Performance Enablement & Execution organization. It is designed to teach participants about the healthcare industry, local market functions, sales trainings, sales support tools and our commercial business - all while developing business acumen in a dynamic and flexible work environment.
Responsibilities:
As a Sales Performance Enablement & Execution rotational intern, you will be assigned various responsibilities supporting various teams within U.S. Commercial Operations.
Activities focused on supporting sales performance, data collection, measurement, readiness, and training will be led by the Performance Execution Manager. Some examples of responsibilities may include:
Work with various Program Managers to support facilitation of virtual training sessions for our sales and network teams.
Conduct audits of existing program curricula and presentations to update and refine messaging as well as ensure compliance.
Assist with administrative tasks including servicing our Sales Institute mailbox and scheduling.
Assist with data collection and performance measurement activities across several digital tools and websites.
Partner with internal employees across various teams on a wide range of specialized projects.
Work closely with the Performance Execution Manager to understand our work intake and execution process.
Work alongside our Instructional Designers as they create unique solutions to meet the needs of our audiences.
Opportunity to Grow:
Upon completion of the summer program, there may be an opportunity to extend the internship into the Fall and Spring. During this extension, you will work part time on expanded projects, including tasks related to the support of the next class of U.S. Commercial Interns and sales performance and program management.
Enterprise Community:
The Cigna Group interns, across all areas of the company, will come together for various learning sessions throughout the program. This will provide you with a broader network of students in similar roles that serve different parts of the business. You will learn more about the company as a team and be able to connect throughout your internship.
Compensation:
Interns will earn a highly competitive hourly rate in addition to gaining valuable work experience and exposure to potential future Early Career Program offerings.
Internship Qualifications
Open to rising Juniors or Seniors
Candidates with preferred completion of 2-3 years towards a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, or related fields
Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deal with changing priorities
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
3.0 GPA preferred
Preference to interest in a future career within sales operations program management and/or sales
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially Microsoft Word and Excel as well as comfort with learning various other digital technology platforms

This internship would have a potential extension opportunity into Fall and/or Spring
Summer: 30 – 40 hours/week for 10-12 weeks
Fall: 10-15 hours/week for 16 weeks
Spring: 10-15 hours/week for 16 weeks
