ST is excited to welcome an Thin Film Engineering Intern at our office located in Santa Clara, CA.
Internship Duration: 3-6 months, depending on intern's availability and location.
Responsibilities:
- Testing quantum dot based photodiodes and image sensors for both electrical and materials analysis.
- Perform accelerated test to correlates materials property and electrical data for device reliability and longevity.
- Design and implement appropriate test protocols, sample preparation and established standard operating procedures (SOP’s).
- Document experimental data, prepare technical reports, and present results at weekly group meetings.
Candidate Profile:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. in chemistry, materials science, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related discipline
- Strong hands-on lab skills
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with software such as JMP, MATLAB, Python, and/or other common programming languages is preferred
- Knowledge of advanced materials characterization techniques such as photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL, TRPL), ellipsometry, Resistivity, Uv-Vis, TEM, XPS, XRD, etc
- Detail oriented personality with solid documentation, reporting and presentation skills

At STMicroelectronics, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. The base hourly rate range for this role is between $32 and $43 USD.
