Paralegal
The Paralegal is responsible for having an understanding of legal terminology, court rules and procedures the ability to draft legal documents using proper procedures as required by state and federal laws and regulations. The Paralegal assists in the daily coordination and management of all aspects of litigation and administrative proceedings, handles all initial preparation of pleadings and discovery packages for pending or filed lawsuits, clerical work (filing, copying, retyping, scanning, making database entries, etc.), and miscellaneous tasks as required by the CCSO General Counsel.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferred with a Major in Public Relations, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or related field or hold and maintain certification from The Florida Bar as a Florida Registered Paralegal
- Applicant must have prior experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant in a law firm environment, or comparable experience performing functions similar to those listed above
- Type 50 WPM accurately
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Highly computer literate
- Basic knowledge of general office equipment
- The following items may be required at various steps in the application process:

- Form DD214 for all periods served in the military
- GED or High School Diploma and Sealed Transcripts from the highest level of education
- FDLE Authority for Release (notarized)
