Camp Counselor
The City of Lansing Parks & Recreation Department is seeking Summer Activity Leaders to serve as Camp Counselors to assist with the guidance and development of youth who participate in the City of Lansing’s 8-week summer camp program. These leadership-driven positions provide an excellent chance for you to ignite creative learning to young people in the community between the ages of 5 and 17 years old. This environment is a perfect fit for individuals who love to have fun while they work and live to motivate groups with positivity and high energy.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the development of camp curriculum
- Supervise, provide instruction, and teach diverse activities to youth
- Lead discussions with small groups
- Adherence for following all COVID19 and social distancing protocols and procedures will be enforced and remain in place for the duration of the summer camp program.
Ideal candidates will possess:
- Must be 18 years of age at the time of hire.
- Interested candidates must provide proof of age prior to interview selection.
- Previous experience communicating and interacting with youth individually and in a group setting preferred.
- Successful candidates must be able to demonstrate their experience and competence in oral and written communication.

Salary: $12.25 - $13.25 per hour
