Student Assistant - Reeve A/V Technician
Summary:
Audiovisual Technicians are responsible to setup, maintain and troubleshoot meeting room audiovisual systems as well live sound systems used for bands and other entertainers. Audiovisual Technicians provide a high level of quality customer service to student, staff and community customers. There is some heavy lifting involved as well as work on ladders. Summer employment is available but not required.
General working hours for this position are 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM Monday through Friday with the expectation of one after hours event per pay period (every two weeks). 15-20 hours per week are expected when classes are in session. Summer employment is available but not required.
Essential Tasks/Responsibilities:
A. Meeting and Event Support
1. Setup, arrange, and tear down of live sound systems
2. Setup, arrange, and tear down of meeting room AV equipment
B. Customer Service
1. Answer technology related questions via phone, email, and in person
2. Assist customers to meet their event production goals
3. Assist customers with meeting room technology
4. Assist customers with live sound support
5. Work with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
C. Troubleshoot Equipment Issues
1. Troubleshoot live sound systems and meeting room AV equipment equipment effectively
2. Be able to provide solutions to a technical issue in meeting rooms quickly and accurately
3. Be able to provide information about troubleshooting steps to Lead Audiovisual Technician and Audiovisual Support Coordinator
D. Maintain Inventory, Equipment, and Documentation
1. Complete detailed and routine tasks, such as weekly inventory and laptop updates
2. Return equipment to proper storage areas and tidy as needed
3. Complete daily log with tasks completed and customers met
4. Perform equipment maintenance as instructed
5. Develop and maintain thorough records, databases, binders, and files
Majors Considered: All majors considered; preference given to those majoring in Music Industry, Recording, Music Business, or Radio/TV/Film.
