JOB TITLE: Intern- T&S Project Controls

DEPARTMENT: Large T&S Projects – Topeka General Office
LOCATION: Topeka, KS
PAY RANGE: $17.00 - $22.00
Scheduled Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Other hours as required)

Intern Description:
As a Project Controls Intern within the Transmission and Substation departments, you’ll primarily support the Project Controls Analysts. As part of the Project Controls team, you will be at the center point of our large projects and have the opportunity to interact with Project Managers, Engineering, Real Estate, Construction and Maintenance. As you partner with our team, you will have the opportunity to learn what the day-to-day looks like, along with the big picture of why we’re doing what we do. We will have multiple opportunities identified that will assist with streamlining processes that are highly valuable to not only our team, but multiple teams throughout the company.
Job tasks include but not limited to:
- Data clean-up and entry
- Assistance in creation of updating processes
- Project completion reporting assistance
- Partnering with PCA’s to identify opportunity areas to assist with their day-to-day and long-term processes
Education and Experience Requirements:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university, majoring in one of the following: Analytics, Accounting, Finance, Economics, General Business, Management, Project Management, or similar field.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:
- Must be dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented and have excellent organizational and proofreading skills.
- Must possess the ability to work and communicate effectively with other company personnel.
- Proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets required.
- Proficiency in databases and PowerApps preferred.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities and operate efficiently.
Working Conditions:
Normal office conditions with business casual dress attire. Successful candidate will get the opportunity to join our field teams for learning and understanding of the projects we support, along with potential work-from-home once specific tasks are assigned.
