Myers School of Art, located in Folk Hall on East Exchange Street, is a fun and rewarding place to work. As a Ceramic Studio Assistant, you will be a valuable part of our team that keeps the studio clean, stocked and safe. Student assistants are vital and valued members of the school and help keep it running smoothly. This position can work around any students busy schedule. You can pick hours that work best for you!

Students with prior ceramics or art experience are encouraged to apply.

Never worked in a ceramic studio before? Don't worry--we'll train you! Here, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in both your academic and professional careers.

*possible benefit of having access to the ceramic studio for personal projects during non-work hours*

Responsibilities:

  • work 8-12 hrs per week
  • Assist staff and faculty with daily operations
  • General studio duties
  • Cleaning table tops and shelves
  • Sweeping and mopping
  • Mixing clay
  • Mixing glaze
  • Organizing
  • Refilling materials
  • vacuum dust

Qualifications:

  • Detail-oriented and willing to learn
  • Pleasant and effective communication skills
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
  • Comfort with asking questions
  • Professional demeanor
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs (preferred ability to lift 50lbs)
  • Must have Federal Work Study
