In-Home Therapist

In-Home Youth & Family Therapist Opportunity – 24, 32, or 40 hours per week

Fuller Hospital is a 102-bed licensed, private psychiatric facility located in South Attleboro, Massachusetts providing inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services to residents of Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Inpatient units are designed to treat adults with general psychiatric or intellectual disabilities, as well as adolescents with general psychiatric issues. Patients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders can be treated on most units. Fuller Hospital also provides a less intensive Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) to patients with psychiatric and co-occurring psychiatric and substance abuse disorders.

The In-Home Therapist is an important member of the Fuller Hospital's clinical treatment team. This is a salary position with an opportunity to work 24, 32 or 40 hours per week. There is flexibility to create your own schedule, and an opportunity to complete work from home. This is a wonderful opportunity to gain clinical experience providing individual and family therapy to differing age groups with a wide range of diagnoses.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate intensive in-home family therapy sessions with youth under the age of 21 and their families.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans
  • Complete various paperwork such as progress notes, comprehensive and CANS assessments, safety plans, treatment plan updates, etc.
  • Availability for crisis intervention, crisis calls, and skills coaching as needed for your clients
  • Frequent care coordination with collateral contacts regarding treatment plan goals and progress
  • Identify and utilize community resources; provide aftercare referrals to develop and maintain natural supports for the youth and parent or caregiver(s) in order to sustain treatment progress.

Position Structure

  • is flexible based on you and your clients/families availability. During the school year, sessions often take place in the afternoons once school is out. However, you are welcome to schedule appointments during the day if applicable and on weekends, if you and the family prefer to do so.
  • Caseload: our caseload depends on your status, in addition to the intensity of your client/family’s needs. If you are part-time (24 hours), you may have around 4-6 cases; full time, you may have 8-10 cases. There is no set amount of clients you would have to take, just however many clients it takes to meet your hours. Clients may often need more than one session a week (this could consist of a family session and parent session or client skill building session, etc.)
  • Areas of Service: We service the Southeast Region of MA. The bulk of our referrals come from towns such as Attleboro, Taunton, Mansfield, Foxboro and surrounding areas. We also take cases in New Bedford/Fall River area for clinicians who live in that area. We try to keep you centralized in a specific area to avoid extensive travel. We also try to obtain referrals in your desired areas when possible.
  • Supervision: You will receive one hour per week of supervision with a licensed clinician (in-person or via zoom). This hour can be spent discussing your cases, identifying interventions for treatment, reviewing paperwork, conceptualizing cases, or reviewing any concerns or questions you may have, etc. In addition, we offer weekly group supervision.
  • Telehealth: While navigating the current state of the pandemic, we are offering both telehealth sessions and in-person sessions. This decision is made between the family and the clinician. In many cases, families prefer a hybrid model, where clinicians may see clients both in-person and through telehealth.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a counseling or social work related field
  • If you are in your 2nd year of a master’s program, you may be eligible to intern as an IHT through a paid internship
  • Licensure or licensure eligibility preferred
  • Outpatient or home based social work experience preferred
