Vincennes University is seeking applicants for an Adjunct Faculty position in Welding Technology. This is a part-time position located in Vincennes, IN. This position will teach degree required courses in the discipline of Welding Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to teach courses in the Welding Program.
- Strong background in Oxy/Fuel cutting and welding, SMAW, GMAW, TIG
- Able to work daytime and/or evenings as needed.
- Monitor student progress and maintain student progress reports.
- Provide course instruction in remote and/or online formats as needed
- Uphold records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
- Maintain a safe working environment for students and co-workers.
- Embrace an active learning environment.
- Other duties as opportunities arise.
EDUCATION: Minimum of an A.S. degree in Welding Technology or related area with a minimum of two years documented welding work experience. Applicable AWS certifications or equivalent will be required.
Direct working experience in the following areas:
- SMAW
- GMAW
- Oxy/Fuel welding and cutting
- Blueprint reading
- TIG
- Metal preparation – cutting, grinding, shearing, rolling, beveling, plasma table setup
REASONING SKILLS: Strong problem-solving skills.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Excellent oral & written communication skills with a friendly, outgoing, respectful attitude.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift 50 pounds from the floor and ability to stand for a minimum of two hours without a break.
