UGA IT Manager

About the College/Unit/Department: 

The Advancement IT department in the division Development & Alumni Relations provides IT and communications support for over 200 division employees across 8 different locations. The department provides for all hardware, software, and reporting needs for the Division.  They support the Divisions Customer Relations Management (CRM) and Gift Accounting System (Blackbaud CRM – GAIL), the General Ledger/Fund Accounting System (One Solution), division web presence, custom applications, along with multiple other tools.  They also provide selection, purchasing and support of all DAR employees’ mobile and desktop devices (PC’s, IPADs, phones, lab tops, printers, monitors, etc.)  They are responsible for the security of all hardware and software systems and all DAR data.

Position Summary: 

Reporting to the Associate Director of Applications and Integrations in the Advancement IT department, this is an Information Technology (IT) leadership position responsible for project management, resource management, supervision of IT professionals, and communication of IT services and support. This individual is responsible for IT strategic and/or tactical planning, implementation, and evaluation for the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) and the UGA Foundation (UGAF) regarding the financial accounting system ensuring performance, integrity, and security. This includes the planning and development aspect as well as troubleshooting. Additionally, the individual is responsible for effective communication among faculty, staff, administration, students, and appropriate IT resource providers at the University. This position is responsible for the identification, selection, and application of appropriate technology resources to support the financial accounting systematic needs of the Division and Foundation.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.  Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and at least 5 years comparable experience in creation and maintenance of enterprise systems.
  • Higher education and/or accounting support experience is preferred with experience using:
    • CentralSquare Finance Enterprise or PeopleSoft Financials
  • Experience working with technical teams, functional experts, and end users
  • Experience with implementation phase of ERP/SaaS solutions
  • System administrator experience for Windows or Linux
  • Experience with SQL Server, Visual Studio, VB .Net, and reporting/query/analytic tools (ex: SSRS, Tableau, Qlik, Cognos)
  • Working knowledge of VMWare and storage networks
  • Working knowledge of network load balancers and methodologies
  • Proven experience managing critical projects and/or platforms
