Water Resources Engineering Intern

We are currently seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to join the RS&H Infrastructure Practice in Jacksonville, Florida.

 

The Water Resources Engineering Intern will be mentored by and will collaborate with top engineering design associates within the Water Resources Infrastructure Team.  This position will be engaged on a large variety of aviation-focused projects, from airfield and landside facilities to airport wide drainage studies.  Come work with us and have a major impact on the communities that we serve! This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Aviation and Water Resources engineering fields.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the preparation of plans and design on aviation infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with the design of storm water management facilities, control structures, collection/conveyance systems, and other drainage-related infrastructure
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and design for aviation infrastructure projects
  • Assist with the preparation of design and permitting documents, including design reports, calculations, construction plans, and permit applications

 

Qualifications:

  • Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university
  • 2.5 GPA or above
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Works well in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior internship or related experience
  • AutoCAD and / or Microstation experience
  • Hydrologic/hydraulic modeling experience
  • Experience with or exposure to plans preparation and design standards
  • Specific interest in Water Resources engineering
