Architecture Project Associate/Internship
Mayta + Sebastian Architecture DPC is an Architectural Design and Consulting firm recognized for its expertise in building, design, forensics, and restoration/rehabilitation. Our firm provides new design and restoration services to clients in a wide range of industries including residential, commercial, education, and industrial. This is a key position on our team with leadership potential as we grow our practice.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the day to day project tasks, as well as assist M+S’s Principals in existing conditions surveying, laser scanning and registration, construction site visits, design and construction documentation, reporting, client presentations, and marketing materials.
Responsibilities
- Visit project sites to assist in surveying, scanning, and photographing existing conditions and clearly relay existing conditions information to BIM technicians for modeling.
- Register point clouds using Leica Cyclone and or Faro Scene registration programs, depending on scanner(s) used in surveying.
- Research and development of laser scanning processes and protocols with Leica BLK 360 and Faro Freestyle scanners, as well as DJI Photogrammetry drones, and workflow for merging data from multiple sources into point clouds for BIM Modeling use.
- Assist in Preparation/ coordination of drawing packages utilizing Revit that are consistent with the project design objectives and programming elements.
- Gather and coordinate information and assist with property, code, and zoning research.
- Self-research intended materials for proper implementation into proposed applications/ project needs.
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents, and compile project data and research.
- Assist project team in coordination of scope of work and budget documents for distribution to client.
- Assist in the preparation of renderings, design documents and presentations.
- Assist in the preparation of FISP (Façade Inspection Safety Program) reports, including use of DOB software for input and submission to jurisdictional authorities.
- Assist in revisions of drawings and presentations to reflect feedback received by clients, project principal, in-field circumstances, as well as document any related challenges that may arise during construction.
- Assist Project managers by typing and formatting Site Visit Reports, Bid Spreadsheets, Clarifications, presentation materials, and other documents using advanced features of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Photoshop.
- Assist Project managers with construction administration and oversight including responding to RFI's, preparing sketches and addendums (CCD's), and/or preparing punch lists in Word/ Excel.
- Assist Project Managers in tracking the construction schedule and budget using Trello, Word, Excel and/ or Google calendar.
- Resolve issues that are discovered in the field through collaboration with Project Managers/ Project Principals.
- Apply sound and diverse knowledge in architecture principles and practices in a broad array of assignments.
- Assist project teams with technical documentation/ development of details and protocols for various project types including façade restoration, exterior rehabilitation, historic preservation, forensic investigation, and interior alterations, etc. Assist in Marketing and advertising content creation for website, blog entries, social media and print correspondence.
Experience
- Must have 1-2 years of field experience with historic preservation, restoration, and building envelope projects
- Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture
- REVIT experience preferred.

Salary: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
