Structural Engineer

The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an Entry Level Structural Engineer for our Buildings Practice in San Antonio, TX office.

 

Job Summary:

The Entry Level Structural Engineer will assist on a variety of conventional and design-build projects that combine innovative structural design with a strong knowledge of technical standards to exceed client expectations and provide cost-effective solutions.  

Essential Functions:

  • Prepare construction documents, including structural drawings and specifications.
  • Perform structural calculations by hand and with computer-assisted engineering software.
  • Coordinate with other internal disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.
  • Review shop drawings, answer requests for information, and provide construction site visits.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
  • EIT licensure required at time of application
  • 0-4 years of experience with buildings design preferred (intern or professional)
  • Able to develop designs using hand calculations and other structural design software packages
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word
  • Prior related internship experience
  • Experience or exposure to building codes and specific design codes related to structural engineering (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, etc)
  • Revit and AutoCAD proficiency
  • Skilled in the use of structural design and analysis software (STAAD, RISA, Enercalc, etc)
