Civil Field Engineering Inspection Intern

The Opportunity

 

We are currently seeking Civil Field Engineering Inspection Interns for our Transportation-Construction Management practice throughout the US. These positions could be in AZ, CO, FL, IL, MI, NC, SC, TX, or VA.

 

As a Civil Field Engineering Inspection Intern, you will collaborate with and be mentored by top engineering associates on our team while gaining hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Construction Management profession. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. 

 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Support inspection teams with field inspections
  • Verify the dimensions of prepared and completed work
  • Collect and prepare data for evaluation
  • Perform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipment
  • Prepare reports for site operations activities including materials used and completed work
  • Provide support to engineering and project management associates

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good driving record with a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditions
  • Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
  • Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Engineering Management, or other related specialization from an ABET-accredited university
  • Prior internship or related experience
