Brand Marketing Intern

Lucid is looking for a team-oriented Graphic Design Intern to join the Brand Creative team. You’ll work with creative and art directors, designers, writers, motion designers, marketers, production and project managers to support Lucid's marketing and branding efforts. This is a unique opportunity for someone with a growth mindset who is looking to further honing their technical skills, exposure to broader strategic design development, contribute to the development of a growing brand, and work with a team well-intentioned, fun-loving human beings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist art directors and senior designers with overflow work and getting projects to the finish line on time by providing support anywhere between concept and production as needed.
  • Create polished, on-brand designs with precision for a wide range of projects across brand and marketing, including emails, social media, blog, presentations, sales PDFs, in-product illustrations, ebooks, ads, sales and event collateral, etc.
  • Build, expand, maintain and improve templates, asset libraries, guidelines, style guides, documentations, etc. to help scale design support the team provides across the company.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, design leads, partners, and project managers to execute on brand and marketing initiatives.
  • Become deeply familiar with brand standards and guidelines quickly.
  • Utilize the appropriate project management and communication tools (i.e. Asana, Slack, email) to communicate progress, roadblocks, and concerns on projects clearly, timely, and regularly.
  • Follow established systems to organize and maintain brand assets and project files; make recommendations on potential improvements.
  • Be an active participant and contributor in team and cross-functional meetings.

Requirements

  • A portfolio that shows off your design approach and solid understanding of design principles in the form of layout, color, composition, and typography.
  • Has an interest in design within the context of business and marketing.
  • Practical knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (mainly Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • You sweat the details and it shows through your excellent file hygiene (versioning, naming and organizing layers, styles, pages, and files).
  • Execute on established and evolving brand guidelines (see https://adobe.ly/323NSbz).
  • Openly collaborative — can comfortably and effectively present work, solicit feedback, give honest feedback in an empathetic manner.
  • An effective and personable communicator (verbal and written) who can facilitate collaboration and cooperation.
  • A team-oriented, inquisitive, and proactive problem-solver.
  • Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related majors preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Figma (or similar prototyping tools)
  • Working knowledge of photo retouching, color grading
  • A storyteller
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • 1-2 of years of relevant learning
