Art Fellow Job Description
ARTS Science Consciousness Education and Nature Development fellowship (ASCEND) program is a fellowship program with the purpose of preservation, restoration, and promotion of the Ancient Kemetic Culture through research, art, and other cultural practices.
As an ASCEND art fellow, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Prepare all content for the sessions so that it goes through the process of creation steps and solves a problem(s) (Dogon principles of creation, design thinking)
- Incorporate the curriculum content for all sessions
- Do research on ancient Kemetic art and practices
- Hold an exhibition
- Potentially take part in a trip to Kemet to document and record this ancestral knowledge and hold an exhibition on November/December 2024-2025

- Promotion of the artist via our social channels
- Research materials, curriculum, book recommendations,
- Fellows will be awarded second-quarter group and expenses paid for the project and an excursion to hot springs with other team members
- Supportive team consisting of editors, writers, graphic designers, UX designers, grant writers, and other researchers
- Opportunity to work on ASCENDtials publications and products
- Potentially partner with museum fellow programs
- Potentially take part in a trip to Kemet to document and record this ancestral knowledge and hold an exhibition on November/December 2023
