Mechanical Engineering Intern

Cytrellis is a medical technology company dedicated to the development and commercialization of first-in-class aesthetic devices which emphasize safety and efficacy. Cytrellis’ first product, Ellacor, is a novel, proprietary system with Micro-Coring technology designed to remove skin without scarring. Ellacor provides aesthetic practitioners with an unprecedented ability to improve age-related changes in skin and to help restore youthful beauty.
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will primarily be a member of the R&D Engineering Team at Cytrellis, but will contribute to cross functional projects supporting manufacturing, operations, and quality too.
Primary duties and responsibilities may include the following activities:
Contribute to verification and validation activities, including authoring test protocols and reports, and executing testing
Design and develop Solidworks CAD models to be machined or 3D printed for prototypes as part of the engineering design process
Contribute to design and feasibility testing of future products
Implement design improvements to sustain existing commercial product
Perform product failure investigations and root cause analysis
Desired Experience/Skills:
Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college or university, pursuing a degree within Mechanical Engineering or related fields
Experience with Solidworks
Knowledge of 3D printing and various rapid prototyping methods
Experience with running and developing tests/experiments
Familiar with Good Laboratory/Manufacturing Practices (GLP/GMP)
Problem solving capabilities and analytical skills
Good communication/presentation skills
Experience with Arena PLM system a plus
