Diesel Mechanic

Primary Duties
· Inspects and tests company vehicles, company box trucks, and company tractor trailers.
· Must be able to troubleshoot/diagnose truck engine and emission systems.
· Utilize scanning tools.
· Perform minor and major repairs on trucks and trailers
· Complies with state vehicle and DOT vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
· Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes
· Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock and placing orders for necessary parts.
· Maintains vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
· Perform all other related duties and assignments as needed.
Job Requirements:
Physical Requirements
· Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
· Capability to stand in one place for 80% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
· Capability to walk throughout department for 20% of the shift (8+ hours per day)
· Capability to lift to 100 lbs. on a frequent basis with reasonable accommodation.
· Requires the frequent use of both hands and arms
· Capability to bend, twist, and squat as needed throughout the shift (8+ hours per day)
· Must be able to work in a Safety Sensitive Position.
· Knowledge of refrigeration: reverse and cold plate refrigeration, and Thermal King Unit refrigeration a plus
