Calculus Cavalry Tutor

Job description: 

Provide drop-in calculus tutoring as a member of the Calculus Cavalry

Desired skills and/or additional qualifications: 

Applicants need to have completed Math 263 or its equivalent, with at least one mathematics course at Lafayette College.

An interest and ability to aid students in their understanding of calculus at all levels (must be able to tutor the content in Math 125, 141, 161, 162, and Math 263).

Hours per week: 4 hours 

Required work schedule:  There is a mandatory meeting for Cavalry members every Monday from 4:10 - 5pm during the semester. Applicants must be able to attend this meeting.  There are absolutely no exceptions.

Each Cavalry member is assigned a single 3 hour shift per week at the same time every week. The tentative shift times are M,W,Th 7-10 pm and T,Th,Su 4-7 pm.  Applicants must be available to work at least one of these shift times.

Required start date: Week 2 of Spring 2024

This is a paid position. Current compensation is $10 per hour. The Monday meeting counts as 1 hour in that regard. 

This position is an in-person only position with no remote work option.
