REMOTE Grant Writer
Description:
Sports Media Inc. is seeking an intern for the position of Grant Writer. The individual working in this role requires a high level of energy and exceptional communication and writing skills. This position will involve all aspects of grant writing, exploring the full range of grant opportunities to support our projects. The internship aims to prepare the intern for a career as a grant writer and fundraising coordinator. This is a remote position, with onboarding start dates available during the following periods:
- Winter: January 1-7
- Spring: April 1-7
- Summer: June 1-7
- Fall: August 1-7
- Winter: October 1-7
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the execution and management of grant writing programs, demonstrating the ability to multitask, handle logistics, and follow through on multiple events and programs simultaneously.
- Collaborate with our grant office on opportunities for educational institutions we work with, following recommendations and preparing applications on their behalf.
- Prepare letters of inquiry, funding requests, and other materials to solicit funds, schedule presentations, and follow up as appropriate.
- Deliver organized, structured, and persuasive presentations using effective AI-written and verbal communication.
- Advise and assist in developing a local grant fundraising strategy, plan, and budget.
- Prepare regular progress reports for supporters.
- Serve as a consultant and resource to volunteers in planning and implementing their tasks and responsibilities.
Requirements:
- Current undergraduate majoring in Communications, Political Science, Business, Marketing, Sociology, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong presentation skills, both oral and written.
- Experience using artificial intelligence software and OpenAI.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
